It’s been a while since I’ve proudly donned “plaid”,or tartan as I now know it,but I was actually dubbed “plaid boy” in 8th grade where pretty much 80% of my tops were this “plaid”.
As I’ve grown up, I’ve now opted for more traditional (Irish and Scottish?) patterns, no teenage rebellious scene-kid stage blues, greens and pinks. In exchange, I went for dark, yet bold and vibrant colourations. This is grown-up swagger now…
For this post, my main inspiration really was to show the different ways I’d wear this tartan shirt. The one on the right is a bit more tough; a rocker kind off approach. I was actually going for a “Ramones inspired” look all dishevelled but my only (faux) leather jacket came off as ultra-modernistic in a post-apocalyptic tight onesies for everybody. On the right is I guess a bit more formal? Anyhow, I just LOVE this new thrifted shirt of mine.
ps. I’ve cut my hair way shorter since these pictures were taken so no more do you have to remind me that I’m always trying to channel Lion King… :/
